DropBy is a porch light for your people. These Terms are an agreement between you and Ora et Labora Technologies LLC, a Missouri company ("we"). By creating an account or using DropBy, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use DropBy.
1. Who can use DropBy
You must be at least 13. If you're under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. DropBy is offered in the United States.
2. Your account
You can sign in with a phone number, an email address, a username, or anonymously. You don't have to use your real name, but don't pretend to be someone else. Keep your sign-in secure and don't share it; you're responsible for activity on your account. An anonymous account lives only on your device, and if you delete the app or sign out, we can't recover it.
3. Your light and your people
You choose who can see your light, and you're responsible for who you invite and let in. A lit lantern means you're open to connecting. It isn't a promise, and DropBy isn't a way to reach anyone in an emergency: call 911. Respect people's time and boundaries.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use DropBy to harass, threaten, spam or stalk anyone, or to follow someone's whereabouts without their consent. Don't share invite links or Porch Codes to spam or mislead people. Don't try to get into other people's accounts or data, or interfere with the service. Don't reverse engineer DropBy, scrape it, or automate it, except as the law allows. Don't break the law while using DropBy.
5. The app and the services it uses
Your license to the app is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms add the rules for using DropBy. DropBy relies on Apple (iCloud and the App Store) and Google (Firebase sign-in), and their terms also apply to your use of those services. DropBy is free. If we offer optional paid features later, Apple will sell them, and they'll be described before you buy.
6. Changes
DropBy is provided "as is" and "as available." Features may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use DropBy means you accept it.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account; the Privacy Policy explains what's erased. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk.
8. Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, we provide DropBy without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, connections or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $50, or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, if more. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
9. Governing law
Missouri law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be decided in the Circuit Court of St. Charles County, Missouri, or, where a federal court has jurisdiction, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
